On 6th September 2024, the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment reported that 749 Sri Lankan workers have departed for caregiver positions in Israel. On the same day, 21 individuals from the 131st group, preparing to leave for caregiver jobs in Israel, were provided with essential documents, including visas and vouchers, at the Bureau. This group consists of 18 young women and 3 young men, who are scheduled to depart for Israel on 9th September 2024.
Sri Lanka has secured employment opportunities in countries like Israel, South Korea, and Japan through Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment. These agreements offer high-wage positions in sectors such as caregiving and nursing. Additionally, individuals interested in nursing jobs in Israel can register through the Bureau’s official website www.slbfe.lk.
