A proper plan avoids the shortcomings of foreign employment.

Deputy Minister ArunHemachandra emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Employment is committed to ensuring safe, well-paying, and satisfactory foreign employment opportunities for Sri Lankan workers. He acknowledged the existing shortcomings in the system and stressed the need for proper planning to address these issues.

During a discussion held on December 18, 2024, with senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Employment and the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment, various challenges facing the foreign employment sector were discussed, along with potential solutions. Attendees included Additional Secretaries Dr. SugathYalegama and Prasad Piyasena, along with Chairman of the Bureau Koshala Wickramasinghe and General Manager D.D.P. Senanayake.
